Oben seht ihr die erste der beiden pinken Schminktäschchen, die ich am Sonntag und Montag genäht habe. Ich habe hierbei quasi "Kundenwünsche" berücksichtigt und tief in meinem Stoffstapel die pinken und rosa Stoffe rausgesucht. Die Tasche oben wurde, wie ihr sicherlich seht, zum Geburtstag verschenkt. Die Dame hat sich sehr darüber gefreut und ich habe auch ihren Farbgeschmack gut getroffen.
On the first picture I show one of the two cosmetics pouches I sewed on sunday and monday. I had to watch out for the color wishes of my "custumers" and dived deep into my fabric stash for some pinks and rosa. The first shown bag is a birthday presend. She liked the bag and said - you catched up my favourite colors - great.
Diese zweite Tasche habe ich Bestellung für meine Mutter genäht. Der Farbwunsch war ebenfalls pink und so und da habe ich gleich diese beiden Schönheiten genäht. Die zweite Tasche hat einen Boden und ist somit geräumiger. Ich hoffe, dass hier die neue Besitzerin sehr zufrieden sein wird.
The secnd bag is kind of an order from my mum. She wanted a pink bag too so I combined the sewing and cutting and made two. The second bag has a bottom - there is much more place to put stuff in it. I hope the new owner will be lucky with this bag.
Bei beiden Taschen habe ich den gleichen Futterstoff für das Innenfutter verwendet. Wer hier regelmäßig auf den Blog schaut wieß, dass ich sehr viele Batiks in meinem Vorrat habe und diese auch sehr gerne vernähe. Das Innenfutter ist so ein Batikstoff, den ich auf dem Stoffmakrt bei einem holländischen Händler erstanden habe.
I used the same lining in both bags. I used one of my favourite batics I bought on the market. If you read my blog regulary you know that I love batics and use a lot of them.
Bei beiden Taschen kam zum erstem Mal mein neuer Freier Quilt Fuß meiner neuen Bernina Maschine zum Einsatz. Ich muss sagen, am Anfang war ich sehr überrascht, wie prezise man damit quilten kann. Ich habe mich bei der flachen Tasche an einem "Cathedral Window" Quilting versucht - ich nenne das jetzt einfach mal so, da mich das Ergebnis sehr an die "Cathedral Window Blöcke" erinnert. Bei der zweiten Tasche wollte ich nur abwechselnd Kreise und geschwungene Quadrate im Wechsel haben. Das ist relativ einfach, denn man muss immer nur kleine Bögen von Ecke zu Ecke nähen und am Ende der Reihe umdrehen und dann entgegengesetzt arbeiten. Dadurch ergibt sich dieses Muster.
Was macht ihr an diesem kalten und regnersischen Sommertag?
I quilted both bags with the new free motion quilting foot of my bernina. I used it for the first time and was really surprised how easy it was to sew so accurat. I did a - I call it "cathedral window" quilting on the first one. I name it that way because it reminds me how the "cathedral windows blocks" looks like. With the second bag I just wanted circles and wavy squares to appear alternatly. That is really easy because you just sew small waves from corner to corner and in the end you tart the next row doing the waves ion the opposite direction. Thats how this pattern comes out.
