Flower Power

Herzlich Willkommen Frühling. Na ja, wer diesen frühlingshaften Tag heute bestellt hat, bei dem wüsst ich gerne mal was er sich dabei gedacht hat. Schnee, Schneeregen, Regen, Sonnenschein - all das im Wechsel innerhalb von einer Stunde und so geht es schon seit heute Morgen. Immerhin habe ich dadurch Zeit zu nähen. Dabei habe ich diesen schicken Türkranz genäht. Anleitung aus der "Love Patchwork and Quilting" Ausgabe Nr. 10. Nun ziert er meine Wohnungstür und ersetzt meinen, doch sehr weihnachtlichen Papiertürkranz, den ich im Dezember gemacht habe.

Ring Around heißt die Anleitung und lässt sich prima mit einem Styroporkranz als Grundlage machen. Und das macht richtig Spaß.
  
Welcome to springtime. Ok, I have no idea who ordered this springday today - and I do not know what he was thinking by ordering it. Snow, snow rain, rain, sunshine - everything changing every minute and hour and it all started this morning. But with bad weather, time for sewing. I made this cute door wreath with the pattern from "Love Patchwork and Quilting" Magazin nr. 10. Now he shouts out "spring" to every visitor of my flat at the door and took the place of my paper wreath from christmas.

Ring around is the pattern and you can easily use a wreath of styropor as the basic form for the wreath. This is fun to make.
 

Man braucht nur etwas Geduld beim Umwickeln des ewig langen Stoffbandes, denn das verdreht sich sonst furchtbar und man zaubert dann die schönsten Knoten in das Band anstelle eines glatten Kranzes.

You just need some patience to wrapp around this long long band of fabric. It can become crazy if you do not watch it and let it behave.

Und wenn man hier mit Styropor arbeitet, so kann man ganz viel mit den kleinen Stecknadeln ohne Kopf tricksen. Das ist wirklich cool.

And working with styropor as the basic form is easy to trick with some pins on the wreath. That is really cool.

Als nächstes muss ich "nur" noch das Binding an diesen Quilt annähen. Dieses Baby liegt schon seit längerem bei mir im Schrank. Im Februar habe ich ihn auf meiner Bernina 350 PE gequiltet und nun muss noch das Binding ran.

The next thing is to put on the long long long binding on this big quil. I quilted it on my Bernina 350 PE in february and until now it took a nap in my closet. Now off to sew on the binding.
