Das ist sie, die alte Lady von meiner Mutter, eine Pfaff Hobby 721. Ich habe im Internet nachgeschaut und dort gesehen, dass diese Dame Baujahr 1984 ist. Wow. 30 Jahre alt und näht immer noch super. (Die Maschine ist übrigens älter als ich!) Am Anfang war das gerade nähen nicht ganz so einfach, denn diese Maschine hat ziemliches Temperament. Ich meine damit, dass man mit dem Gaspedal vorsichtig sein sollte, denn da steckt noch richtig Power dahinter. Aber langsam klappt es wieder mit den geraden Nähten und auch mit der 1/4 Inch Naht:-) Ich habe hierfür nämich keinen Nähfuß mit der passenden Breite, aber nach ein paar Nähproben, bei der auch das kleine Nadelkissen im Vordergrund entstanden ist, haben wir uns wieder gefunden.
Here she is - the old lady from my mom - a Pfaff Hobby 721. I read up on this maschin in the internet and found out - This lady is made 1984! Wow, 30 years old and she sews still very pretty. (By the way: This maschine is older than me!) At the beginning we had some start problems - this lady has power! You should use the gas pedal very carefully or she will run over your fabric. But now we can sew pretty straight again and my 1/4 Inch seam fits perfectly even though I do not have a sewing foot with 1/4 Inch measurement. After sewing some seams for a test, the small pin cushion in front of the mashine was born.
Auf dieser Nähmaschine habe ich das Nähen gelernt, habe meine erste Tasche genäht und meiner Oma gezeigt, wie eine elektrische Nähmaschine funktioniert - Sie hat noch eine ganz alte Schranknähmaschine mit Fußpedal als Antrieb. Ich musste ihr nur erklären, was wo eingestellt wird und dass das Einfädeln des Fadens auch nicht anders ist als bei der alten manuellen Maschine. Seither näht sie auch mit dieser Maschine gern.
I learned sewing on this maschine, made my first bag on this maschine and showed my granny how to use this elektric maschine - She has an old manual maschine where you give power by using the foot pedal. I explained to her where to set up the maschine and showed her that threading the maschine isn`t realy diffrent to her old maschine. Now she uses this maschine more often than her old one.
Am gestrigen Samstag war Stoffmarkt in Fürth. Ich bin wirklich stolz auf mich, denn ich habe meinen Vorsatz durchgezogen, nur den einen Stand zu besuchen. in drei Wochen geht es auf nach Amerika, ins Land der großen Stoffläden, da kann ich mein Budget für Stoff doch nicht in Fürth ausgeben. Daher habe ich nur meine Batiks bei Hobby Hoejke aus Holland aufgefüllt und bin brav wieder heim gefahren.
Yesterday was fabric market in Fürth. I`m really proud for myself because I stand my intension to go only to the one fabric stand. In three weeks we`ll go to amerika - the land of big fabric stores. I can`t spend all my money for fabric here in fürth. I only filled up my batics and drove back home.
Diese vier Pakete fand ich besonders schön, da sie perfekt zum patchen sind und als Set schön zusammengestellt wurden.
Das Set unten links besteht aus Flanell und ist ganz weich und kuschelig.
I liked these four sets. The are perfectly for quilting. The Set on the left site down is flannel, so cozy.
Natürlich habe ich auch fleißig am "Bollywood" Quilt weitergenäht. Hier seht ihr ca. 15 Blöcke ordentlich gebügelt für die finalen Nähte bereit liegen. Darüber werde ich mich jetzt machen.
So einen grauen und trüben Apriltag muss man einfach an der Nähmaschine verbringen.
I also worked on the "bollywood" quilt. Here you can see about 15 well pressed blocks, ready for their final seams. That is what I`m going to do now. Such a gray and cheerless sunday in april - need to spend time on my sewing maschine.
