Hochzeiten und ein unaufgeräumtes Nähzimmer - Weddings and a chaotic sewingroom

Ich weiß, das war eine lange Pause. Ich muss gestehen, ich habe einfach keine Zeit zum bloggen gehabt.

I know it has been a long time since I blogged. I have to say, I didn`t had the time to blog.

Im Juli hat ein befreundetes Paar geheiratet und ich durfte einige Bilder schießen.
Hier nur ein Paar zum anschauen. Alles in allem eine sehr schöne und gelungene Hochzeit, gut organisiert und durchdacht. Wir sind am Abend, oder eigentlich eher am Morgen erst um halb sechs in unserem Hotelzimmer ins Bett gefallen. Phuuu. Ein anstrengender Tag, aber es war sehr schön.
Ich möchte mich hier ganz herzlich bedanken, dass ich den ganzen Tag dabei sein und fotografieren durfte, es hat wirklich Spaß gemacht, so ein fotogenes Paar vor der Linse zu haben. Hier ein paar meiner Lieblingsbilder, die ich zeigen darf:-)

In July friends married and I was allowed to do some pictures. Some for the impression of this wedding. I was a beautiful, well planned wedding. We felt into our bed in the hotel at 5:30 am - a sign for a really good party and wedding. It was a long and hard day, but it was really fun. I want to say thank you to the couple that I was allowed to be part of the day, do a really great shooting with sucdh a photogenic couple and now I can show you some of my favorite pictures:-)

In der Nacht gab es noch ein Highlight - leuchtende Luftballons.

Ein Highlight am Abend war das Luftballons steigen lassen um Mitternacht. Diese wurden von fleißigen Helfern aufgeblasen und um Mitternacht versammelte sich die Hochzeitgesellschaft auf dem Golfplatz. Man begann mit dem austeilen der Luftballons und plötzlich ging der Rasensprenger auf dem Golfplatz los. Nach einer kurzen Schrecksekunde und viel Geschrei standen alle, teilweise etwas nass am Rand des Golfplatzes, dort, wohin der Wasserstrahl nicht reichte und lachte. So etwas ist im Nachhinein immer am lustigsten, finde ich persönlich, denn irgendwas muss ja auf einer perfekt geplanten Hochzeit "schief gehen".

At midnight was the last highlight of the day. They send colored airballons to the sky. Busy assistants blew them up and at midnight all the wedding guests appears to the golf place. The startet to hand out the ballons and suddenly the sprinklers on the golf place startet to work. A lot of screaming an shouts and a short amazement later everybody was standing next to the sprinklers, laughing. Something has to happen on a perfekt planned wedding, this was the funniest part of it:-)

Alles was ich in den vergangenen fünf Wochen genäht habe, ist bereits undokumentiert wieder aus dem Haus, denn ich habe nur Sachen genäht, die gleich wieder verschenkt wurden.
Manchmal gibt es solche Wochen, da habe ich das Gefühl ich muss demnächst mal wieder auf die Bremse drücken. Mein Nähzimmer ist das reinste Chaos - so seht ihr mal, wie es aussieht, wenn nicht alles perfekt für die Kamera aufgeräumt ist, solche Bilder gibt es genug, heute mal ein Bild aus der Realität - unaufgeräumt, nicht abgestaubt und einfach chaotisch. Leider sieht es so häufig aus, aber das kann ich ja nicht öffentlich zugeben. Ich bin in letzter Zeit auch sehr viel unterwegs, sowie beruflich als auch privat.

Everything I sewed in the last five weeks is already given away as presents, without making any fotos of it. Sometimes there are weeks that run so fast that I have the feeling I have to push the break. My sewing room is a mess - that`s the way most of the time it looks like, when I didn`t clean up for shootings, today a picture from reality - messy, chaotic and uncleaned. But I can`t say that in public that my sewing room is a mess - no way! The last few weeks I`ve been on the road all the time, with my job and in my free time too.

In den vergangenen Wochen habe ich mehr und mehr meine Bernina lieb gewonnen, hierüber entsteht derzeit ein etwas längeres Posting, aber dafür brauche ich noch etwas Zeit. Zeit, die ich im Sommer hoffentlich finde, denn ich habe fünf Wochen Urlaub. Ja, fünf Wochen:-) Unser Haus macht während der Sommerferien Sommerpause. Zeit, viele Überstunden und Urlaub abzubauen, da entstehen dann doch mal fünf Wochen Urlaub. Für diese Zeit habe ich mir vorgenommen eine schöne Pinnwand in mein Nähzimmer zu hängen, mein Zimmer aufzuräumen und eventuell zwei Quilts fertig nähen.

I do love my bernina more and more and I`m doing a longer posting about her but I need a bit more time. Time I can find in the sommerbreak when I got five weeks of holiday. I want to make a memory board in this time for my sewing room and finish two quilts - maybe.

In the night - diffrent:-)

Die Welt in Las Vegas ändert sich grundlegend sobald es dunkel wird. Überall blinken die Reklametafeln. Am Tag wirken sie fast farblos im Vergleich zur Nacht. Tolle Kulissen wir das "New York, New York" wirken gigantisch farbintensiv, im Vergleich zum Tag und bilden einen Hammer Kontrast zum dunklen Himmel.

The world is changing in the night when you are in Las Vegaas. Everywhere you can see blinking advertisings and showstoppers. It is big at the day but in the night it becomes giantic. Great and brilliant skylines like the "New York, New York" looks soooo fantastic with all the colors and the make a great contrast to the dark air.

Wer muss schon nach New York, wenn er die Freiheitsstatue in Las Vegas sehen kann;-) Scherz - New York ist nach vielen Erzählungen definitiv eine Reise wert.

Who needs to be in New York to see the statue of liberty when you can see it in Las Vegas - Just joking:-) New York needs to be travelled soon:-)

Nochmal die Märchenlandschaft, mir gefällt dieses Bild vom "Excalibur" einfach super.

Das HardRockCafe in Las Vegas, für jeden ein Pflichtbesuch. Das Essen in Las Vegas war übrigens sehr lecker und auch die Getränke dort sehr gut.

You have to visit HardRockCafe in Las Vegas. Good food, good drinks - and you can pay it:-)

Man sollte am Abend übrigens immer mit offenen Augen durch die Gegend laufen, man könnte Prominenten Schauspielern begegnen - dieser war zwar nur ein Double aber auf den ersten Blick hin sieht er fast genauso aus wie Jonny Depp als Jack Sparrow:-) Echt cool. Man sieht auch jede Menge Power Rangers, Minions oder Monsters aus Monster AG.
Leider nerven am späten Nachmittag und Abend die "Nachtclubbesitzer", die einem schnalzend Bildchen von nackerten Weibern, so würde meine Oma sagen, in die Hand drücken. Werbung für die nächste "Bar" oder  "Nachtclub" - vielen Dank. Nach einer Stunde ignoriert man das ganz gekonnt.

You should go out with your eyes wide open when you are visiting Las Vegas at night - you can meet famous people everywhere - this one was just a double, but I thought the first Moment - Hey there is Jack Sparrow aka Jonny Depp:-) Really cool. The pose for tips and you can do some fotos. You can meet a lot of Power Rangers, Minions or Monsters from Monster AG too.
Something that wasn`t so nice where all the advertising people for the "nightclubs". They snapp with papers and give you flyers with "hot" girls. No Thank you. You learn how to ignore them within an hour.

Natürlich gibt es vor jedem Casino auch eine kleine Show. Das "Mirage" bietet eine Feuershow mit Vulkanausbruch, sehr faszinierend.

Sehr gerne hätten wir auch die Piratenshow vor dem "Treasure Islands" gesehen, doch die lagen ja leider auf dem Trockenen.

Of course there is a show infront of many casinos. The "Mirage" shows an explotion of an vulcano - fascinating.

We`d like to see the pirates infront of "Treasure Islands" but the ships are going to be renovated.

Als letzte Bilder aus Las Vegas natürlich auch ein paar berühmte Wassertropfen aus dem Bellagio See: Die Wassershow läuft viertelstündlich vor dem Bellagio.

Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas

Heute gibt es viele viele Bilder aus Las Vegas. Ich habe die Zeit gefunden, mich durch 1500 Bilder zu graben und ich möchte euch davon einige zeigen. Dieses Mal nur Bilder vom Tag, Nachts in Las Vegas ist nochmals ganz anders, die gibt es beim nächsten mal.

Today I`ll show you a lot of pictures from our trip to Las Vegas. I found some time to go through 1500 pictures - now I`m going to show you some. this post only day pictures. Las Vegas is completly diffrent at night.


In diesem Sinne, Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada;-)
Wir waren drei Tage in Las Vegas. An diesen Tagen sind wir den Stripe einmal gegen Norden hinauf gelaufen - und zurück und am nächsten Tag in Richtung Süden. Las Vegas konnte ich mir nicht wirklich vorstellen, wie es sein würde. Ich sage nur überwältigend. Sooooo viele Sachen auf einmal. Man weiß teilweise garnicht, wo man zuerst hinschauen soll oder hingehen soll.

So - Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada;-)
We stayed three days in Las Vegas. One day we walked up the strip to the north and the next day we walked down south. I could imagine how Las Vegas would be. It was overwhelming. You can see sooooooo many things - sometimes I didn`t know where to look or to go first.

Wir hatten unsere Bleibe im bekanntesten Hotel von Las Vegas. "Einmal im Leben gönnen wir uns eine Suite - Warum dann nicht in Las Vegas?" Gedacht, gebucht. Wir hatten eine sehr schöne, wirkich großzügige Suite mit einem riesen Bett, einem Bad mit Badewanne, einem mit riesen Dampfdusche und ein "Gäste WC". Dazu ein super schönes Wohnzimmer, großen Kleiderschrank und große Fernseher in jedem Zimmer, auch im Bad. Dort waren sie im Spiegel integriert. Uns hat es gefallen:-)

We stayed in the famous Bellagio. As we planned the trip we said: "One time of our life we want to book a suite - why not in Vegas?" We did it. We had a really nice and big suite with a huge kingsize bed, one bathroom with a bath tub, one with a big steam shower, one guest toilet. We had a big living room, a big wardrobe and TVs in every room, even in the Bathrooms. the were built into the mirrors. We liked our suite.

Wir hatten wunderschönes Wetter in Las Vegas. Aus dem Hotel kommend sieht man gleich den Eiffelturm vom "Paris-Hotel". Man weiß genau, man ist in Amerika, aber trotzdem hat man den Eiffelturm vor der Nase, fast wie eine kleine Reise nach Europa.

We had super weather in Las Vegas. Coming out of the hotel we could see the Eiffeltower infront ot the "Paris" Hotel. You know you are in Amerika but somehow it looks like in europe sometimes. A small trip to europe inclusive.

Am ersten Tag sind wir ca. 10 km gelaufen. Einmal zum Ortschild nach Norden. Vorbei an vielen bekannten Hotels wie das "New York, New York", "Excalibur" - dem Märchenschloss,...

We walked about 10 km the first day. One time to the norht with the welcome sign. We passed a lot of well known hotels like the "New York, New York", "Excalibur" - the beautiful castle,...

"Mandalay Bay", das Hotel sah von außen bis auf die Gartenanlagen etwas unspektakulär aus, und

"Mandalay Bay", the hotel doesn`t looks very special from the outside, and

... dem "Luxor" Hotel, das wie eine Pyramide aussieht. Wir waren auch in jedem Hotel und Casino, haben uns umgeschaut und etwas gespielt. Teilweise sind die Hotels so groß wie ein ganzer Häuserblock. Wirklich gigantisch.

... the "Luxor" hotel, the one that looks like a pyramide. We visited each hotel from the inside too and played a little bit in the casinos. Sometimes the hotels were so big like a complete block of houses. Gigantic!

Man läuft auch an ganz vielen ausgefallenen Geschäften vorbei, wie diesem Harley Davidson Cafe mit der fetten Harley über dem Eingang. Überal sieht man auch Reklametafeln, alles LED und die modernste Werbetechnik. Wirklich verrückt.

We paased a lot of crazy shops, bars and restaurant like this Harley Davidson Cafe with a big harley on top of the entrance. Everywhere commercials with the best technik you can get. 

Am nächsten Tag ging es in die andere Richtung. Vorbei am "Caesars Palace", das war das größte Hotel am Stripe mit einer Little Italy Einkaufspassage im Erdgeschoss. Dort hat man wirklich gedacht, dass man mitten am Trevibrunnen in Rom steht und einkaufen gehen kann. Durch die gleichmäßige Lichtverteilung denkt man es ist immer ca. 4 Uhr am Nachmittag, wirklich tückisch, wenn man da länger bleibt, als würde man die Zeit anhalten.

The next day we went into the other direction - south. We passed "Ceasars Palace", the biggest hotel at the stripe with a huge shopping mall - no it is not a mall, it is like walking trough little italy while going shopping. The rebuild parts of the Trevi Fontains of rom. It is always the same light, if you don`t got a watch with you you will always think it is 4 pm. Staying there is like freeze time.

Vorbei am "Mirage" mit seiner Volkanlandschaft vor dem Hotel, an "Treasure Island" vorbei. Dort wollten wir uns eigentlich die Piratenschlachten ansehen. Leider, leider wurde das nichts, die Schiffe lagen auf dem trockenen und wurden gerade renoviert. Der komplette Eingang eine Baustelle. Schade.

We took a look at "The Mirage" with the vulcano landscape infront of the hotels goining on to "treasure Island". We`d like to see the pirates fighting but there was no water in because the renovated the location. Bad luck, no pirates for us.

Das "The Venetian" haben wir uns genauer angeschaut. Auch hier wieder eine komplette Nachbildung von Venedig. Man konnte im Hotel vor dieser Kulisse Gondel fahren, genauso wie vor dem Hotel. Einfach verrückt.

Ich hoffe ihr habt nun auch einen Eindruck von Las Vegas gewonnen. Es ist auf jeden Fall mal sehenswert, allerdings muss ich für meinen Teil sagen - Einmal Las Vegas im Leben reicht völlig aus:-)


"The Venetian" was one of the last hotels we really took a long time to look at it. Inside you can find a rebuild little venice. You could go by gondola through the coulisse - like infront of the hotel. realla crazy.

I hope it was interessting to see some impressions of Las Vegas. It is completly worth it to visit it one time, but I must say - one time Las Vegas in life is enough for me.

Kirschen, Kirschen, Kirschen - Cherries, Cherries, Cherries

Heute nur ein kurzer Post. Ich habe in den vergangenen Tagen viel gearbeitet und am Abend sah meine Freizeitbeschäftigung so aus: Kirschen entsteinen, Marmelade kochen, Likör ansetzen, Kuchen backen. Ich liebe Kirschen - ich bin aber auch nicht böse drum, wenn ich jetzt nur kleine Portionen zum Essen bekomme. 10 Kilo an zwei Tagen - das ist eine große Menge.

Today only a short post. I worked a lot in the last days and in the evening i did this: I pit cherries, cooked jam and prepared cherries for likor. I do love cherries, but after 10 kilogramms (about 20 pounds) I`m not sad to see only small portions of them just to eat.


Jedenfalls haben wir jetzt viel viel und noch viel mehr Kirschlikör angesetzt, den Kuchen verspeist und eine sau leckere Marmelade gekocht. Heute habe ich mir, da in Nürnberg mal wieder die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel bestreikt werden einen freien Tag gegönnt und bis eben meine Wohnung geputzt. Jetzt darf ich eine Stunde nähen, ehe der Nebenjob ruft. Dann nochmal sechs Stunden arbeiten und dann ist der Tag auch rum. Gut, dass man auch ab und zu einen freien Tag hat.

Now we have a lot, a lot and a lot more likor with cherries prepared, ate the cake and tried the best jam. Today I made a day off from my normal work, becaus the public transportation is on strike in Nürnberg. I cleaned my flat. Now I`m finished and I am going to sew an hour now. Then again six hours of work and the day is finished. Good to have a free day sometimes.

Für den Feierabend noch ein märchenhaftes Bild. Das ist das Hotel Excalibur in Las Vegas bei Nacht. Am Tag ist es eher uninteressant, aber Nachts, da lebt es auf und leuchtet wie alle Märchenschlösser zusammen.
