Tata, fertig ist das gute Stück. Lange genug hat es gedauert. Ich habe dann irgendwann eine kleine Pause eingelegt und ca. 4 kleine Schminktäschchen genäht. Davon habe ich ja letzte Woche welche gezeigt.
Am Donnerstag war es dann endlich soweit. Meine eigene neue Alltagstasche war fertig.
Eigentlich hatten nur noch drei Nähte gefehlt, aber wie das manchmal so ist, kommt immer alles anders als man denkt.
Here it is. It took some time to finish this beauty. On tuesday I finished the last seam, took out the last pins and cut the last thread and there it was - my new everyday bag.
Hier ist sie jedenfalls. Meine Seadays Tasche. Ich nenne sie so, weil mich die bunten Stoffe mit ihren Muschelmotiven und den Möwen und Krabben sehr ans Meer erinnern. Die Stoffe sind aus einem Charmpack von Tula Pinks Stoffkollektion "Salt Water". Kombiniert habe ich die Stoffe mit marineblauen einfachen Baumwollstoff und einem taupeblauen feinen Leinen von Westphalenstoffe.
So here it is. My own seadays bag. I call it Seadays bag because all the birds and crabs and the sea shells remind me on the sea. The fabric is from a charmpack of Tula Pinks collection "salt water". I combined the fabric with simple dark blue cotton and a light grey/blue linen of Westphalenstoffe.
Diese schicke Tasche lässt sich wunderschön tragen. In den letzten beiden Tagen hat mich diese Tasche bereits auf meine Arbeit begleitet. Vom Tragekomfort her muss ich sagen, dass sie sich fast schöner Tragen lässt als meine alte Tasche. Die Träger sind etwas kürzer und dadurch hängt sie in einer perfekten Höhe an der Schulter. Dass die Tasche oben nur diese kleine Klappe mit einem Magnetverschluss hat stört mich garnicht. Durch die kürzeren Träger hängt sie so an der Schulter, dass es wirklich schwierig wird von einem Unbekannten hineinzugreifen, da sie vom Arm verdeckt wird. Als Trägerin kann ich jedoch wunderbar schnell hinein greifen und etwas raussuchen oder hineinpacken.
Great feeling to carry this beauty. I tried the bag in the last days on my way to work and it is perfect. The wearing comfort is great. The handles aren`t too long and it has a perfekt place in a perfect high on my shoulder. This bag has no zipper to close it completly, only a small piece with a magnetic snapper, but this is no problem. Because of the perfect high of the bag while wearing it on the shoulder it is really complicated to get in for an unknown person, because it is covered by the arm. But as the person who is wearing the bag, you can get easily in and put something in or out.
Nachdem ich ja auch täglich ca. zwei Stunden unterwegs bin um auf Arbeit und wieder nach Hause zu kommen, ist für mich das Fassungsvermögen einer Tasche sehr wichtig. Diese Tasche hat eine super Größe. Man bekommt bequem eine Literflasche oder auch eine eineinhalb Liter Flasche in die Tasche, dazu Geldbeutel, Krimskrams, den Frauen immer mit sich rumtragen, ein Magazin oder einen Din A4 Ordner hinein.
Das Beste jedoch sind all die Komplimente, die ich für meine Tasche in den letzten Tagen bekommen habe. Nachdem ich seit Jahren immer die gleiche Tasche nutze fällt das natürlich auf und jeder will die Tasche sehen und bewundert mein Werk. Ich bin wirklich stolz, dass mir diese Tasche so gut gelungen ist.

The size is also great. I`m about two hours of my day on my way to work and back, and so the size does matters a lot for me. This bag has a great size. You can put easily a one litre or one and a half litre waterbottle in it plus moneybag, and the stuff women needs on their day at work, a magazin to read or a bigger file folder.
But the best thing are all the compliments I get from friends, collegues and people who see the bag. Most of my people know the old bag I used the last few years. And now this bag catches attention and everybody wants to see the bag and gives me compliments. I`m really proud that i did such a good job by sewing this beautyful bag.
