Schwarz und Farbe - Black and Colour

Wie ihr seht habe ich an meinem letzten Projekt brav weitergearbeitet. Dieser kleine Quilt ist nach diesem Tutorial der Missouri Star Quilt Company gearbeitet. Er macht ein sehr kompliziertes Muster, aber wenn man weiß, wie man den Stoff schneiden und wieder zusammennähen muss, so ist dies eines der schnellsten und effektvollsten Quiltmuster, die ich kenne.

Ich habe hierfür 12 übrig gebliebene unifarbene Jelly Roll Streifen von der Jelly Roll von Vanessa Christensons Stoffserie "Colour me happy" verwendet. Dazu habe ich ca. 1 m schwarzen Baumwollstoff gekauft und 12 2,5 Inch Streifen zugeschnitten. Danach alles wie im Tutorial kombiniert und dann geschnitten, begradigt und zusammen genäht.

Einen 2 Inch breiten Rand habe ich außenherum angenäht. Jetzt bin ich am Überlegen, ob ich den Quilt so lasse oder in Orange einen kleinen, schmalen Rand nochmal annähe und dann noch einen breiten schwarzen Streifen hinzufüge.
Da bin ich noch nicht sicher.

As you can see I worked on my latest project. This small quilt is made after this tutorial from the Missouri Star Quilt Company. It makes a real complicate looking quilt but after knowing how easy this block is - this block is one of the fastest and most effective quilt designs I know.

I used 12 leftover unicoloured Jelly Roll Strips of the Jelly Roll from Vanessa Christensons fabric line "Colour me happy". I also bought about 1,5 yard of black fabric and cut 12 2,5 inch strips. The I followed the tutorial.

At the end I made a 2 inch wide strip as a first border around the quilt. Now I am thinking that I could make a small orange border around it and surround it by a bigger black border in the end. I`m not finished with this decision.

Das war jedoch nicht das einzige was ich geäht habe. Ich habe inzwischen meine Hexagonaktion mit meinen Restegläsern weitergeführt und dabei die größeren Stücke für andere Projekte heraussortiert. Als kleines Geburtstagsmitbringsel für Freitag habe ich diese kleine Schminktasche genäht.
Die kleinen Quadrate sind ausschließlich Reste aus meinem Bestand und wurden auf 1,5 Inch zugeschnitten. Dann zusammengenäht und in Streifen gequiltet.
Diesmal habe ich sogar an mein Branding gedacht und habe es auch richtig herum hineingenäht. Ach, ich bin wirklich stolz auf mich:-)

But this wasn`t the only thing I sewed this week. I continued with my hexagon action and worked on my leftover glases. I sorted out the bigger pieces and made out hexagons from the others. For a birthday party at friday I needed a small present. These little sqares are all from my stash and are cut to 1,5 inch squares. Then I sewed them together and quilted it in lines.
This time I thought about my branding and I`m so pround that I sewed it the right side facing up to this small bag.

Heute habe ich auch noch etwas Resteverwertung gemacht, aber das zeige ich euch beim nächsten Mal.
