UFOs

Nein, ich habe keine Außerirdischen gesehen oder schwebende Untertassen. UFO ist die Abkürzung für "Unfinished Object" (unfertiges Objekt), ein UFO eben:-)  Davon habe ich derzeit einige im Nähzimmer rumliegen. Nachdem ich ein paar Tage mit Erkältung zu Hause war, konnte ich heute diese kleine Mitteldecke fertig stellen. Den Stern an sich hatte ich schon fertig. Als nächsten habe ich noch einen Rahmen darum genäht und das ganze zum Quiltsandwich zusammengefügt. Ich wollte zudem schon immer mal eine Spirale quilten, nur bei den großen Teilen ist das immer etwas unhandlich unter der Maschine. Daher habe ich hier meine Spirale ausprobiert.

No I haven`t seen any aliens outside. UFO ist a short therm for unfinisched object. And I have a lot of them laying around in my sewing space. Abfter beeing ill for some days I could finished some and work on some more. This small quilt for example. I already had finished the star and I put a boarder on it. After basting the quiltsandwich I tried out to quilt a spiral. For a long time I wanted to try this, but with the big objects I find it very complicated under the mashine. So I did my spiral on this small beauty.

Ich finde Sie ziemlich cool und es hat auch sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Am Ende lief die Maschine bei den großen Runden mit dem walking foot auf Vollgas. Das ging ratz fatz. Dann habe ich die Ecke begradigt und ein Flange Binding angebracht. Mir gefällt diese Art von Binding mit dem Piping drin, das gibt so einem kleinen Deckchen nochmal das gewisse Etwas.
Damit habe ich ein unfinished Object fertig. Weitere folgen:

I really like how it turned out and I had a lot of fun sewing it. In the end, my mashine runs with the walking foot. It was finished in no time. Then I trimmed the edges and put a flange binding on. I like this kind of binding with the small piping in it. It adds a special look to every quilt.

Ich arbeite nun glaube ich schon seit über einem Jahr an dieser Strickjacke. Endlich habe ich auch die beiden Ärmel fertig, dh. ich kann endlich mit dem zusammennähen beginnen. Davor müssen die Teile natürlich mal gespannt werden und angefeuchtet, damit sie ihre Form besser halten. So eine Pinnwand ist wirklich multifunktionell einsetzbar, das sage ich euch:-) Hält besser als auf dem Bügelbrett:-) Diese hier müssen jetzt Trocknen.

I`ve been working on this jacket for a long time, more than a year I think. Finally I`ve finished the arms and that means, I can start sewing it together. Before that I need to tension the pieces and give them some steam to keep the shape. I like to use thing multifunctional - like this pinboard. perfect for tension my knittings, better than the ironing board. Now they have to dry until tomorrow.

Einfach war dieses Muster nicht zum stricken. Es erforderte viel Geduld und für meinen Geschmack wirklich viel Durchhaltevermögen. Aber jetzt kommt der schöne Teil. Die Musterteile sind alle fertig. Ich muss nur noch die Teile zusammennähen und dann die Volants an die Jackenkanten stricken. Ich bin gespannt, wie das wohl so wird. Laut Anleitung brauche ca. 200 Maschen auf der Nadel. Wow, das ist echt viel. Selsbt für eine Rundstricknadel. Ich bin gespannt. Die Volants gehen nachdem die Schulternähte geschlossen wurden vom Nacken über die Seite nach Hinten und über die Seite wieder nach Vorne. Hmm, ich bin gespannt:-) Dabei werde ich sicher noch die ein oder andere CD eines Hörspiels hören.

This pattern wasn`t simple at all. I needed a lot of patience and really a lot of motivation. But now, all the pattern pieces are finished an I can start to sew them together. Then I just need to add the flounces to the boarders and I`m finished. My instructions says I will need about 200 loops for that. That`s really a lot. I am excited how this will work. I think this will take some more CDs of my listening books:-)
