Weihnachten kommt. Es kommt mit riesig großen Schritten auf mich zu. Und ich denke mir im Moment, was für ein Stress. Ich war gestern mit meiner Mutter in der Stadt... Gut, am dritten Adventssamstag in die Stadt zum einkaufen zu gehen, ist allein schon wegen der Entfernung zu Weihnachten, dritter Advent ..., eigentlich psychologischer Selbstmord. Man quetscht sich durch volle Gassen und Wege, durch genervte Käufer und viele Weihnachtsmarktbesucher, durch noch vollere Kaufhäuser und durch endlos lange Kassenschlangen. Verrückt. Und das nur, weil man sich und den liebsten eine schöne Weihnachtsfreude machen will.

Christmas is on the way. What a stress for just one of many holidays in the year. Yesterday I was shopping with my mom in the city... Ok. it is kind of a psychological suicide to go shopping on the third advent saturday because - it is the third advent. Squeezing through a mass of people through the inner city, a lot of people are nerved, you have long long waiting times at the cashpoints and completly filled warehouses. Totally crazy. Only to get some nice things for the ones you love.

Ja Mensch, erspar dir den Stress und kauf im Internet - ja ja, das höre ich jetzt grade ganz laut aus allen Ecken. Ne, Internetkäufe mache ich sehr ungern. Ich habe im Internet keine persönliche Beratung, gerade wenn es darum geht, dem Gatten einen "Bräter" zu kaufen, denn ich habe noch nie wirklich einen "Bräter" benutzt und hab keine Ahnung, was ich dabei beachten soll. Ich kann im Internet die Sachen nicht richtig anscchauen. Noch so ein Punkt. Und - eigentlich der wichtigste Punkt für mich - ich will die lokalen Händler unterstützen. Ich will auch mal im Sommer oder anderen Tagen in die Innenstadt fahren und dort noch Geschäfte vorfinden, Sachen anprobieren und dann auch kaufen. Vielleicht kostet das ein oder andere Teil dort vielleicht mehr als im Internet. Dafür erhalte ich eine lebendige Innenstadt, persönliche Kontakte und manchmal auch ein Teil, das nicht unbedingt aus Was-weiß-ich-woher kommt.
Sicher ich kaufe oder bestelle mir auch mal das ein oder andere Teil, aber meist nur, weil ich es nicht vor Ort bekommen kann, oder weil es in diesem Land nicht verkauft wird, diese Teile sind meist für mein doch sehr amerikanisches Hobby, da muss ich dann in Übersee bestellen, das geht nicht anders.

Ok, go home and order in the internet - I can hear your call really loud from each corner. No, I don`t like shopping in the internet. I do not get personal advices in the internet, I can`t touch the things I like to buy and I do not have a clou if the thing I will buy really looks like the picture in reality.  And the most important part for me is - I want to support the lokal trading companys and shops. I want to go to the city and have a lot of shops with their stuff to sell and not only empty houses. Maybe I have to pay a little bit more in the city than in the internet but I help to keep a busy and active inner city and sometimes a product that is produced lokal and not global.

Sure, some things I have to order in the internet. Special things I can`t get here in the city or in my country, like special fabric collections or stuff for my very american hobby I can`t get in germany.

Jedenfalls haben meine Mutter und ich im gestrigen Shoppingwahn alles gefunden, was wir brauchen und wollten und haben nach einem sehr sehr sehr guten Cappucino in der Innenstadt zu Hause noch gekocht, ehe ich auf die Arbeit gefahren bin.

In the end my mom and I found everything we wanted and after a very good cappucino in the city we went home and cooked a good lunch until I had to drive to work.

Heute habe ich den kompletten Tag frei, ich kann nähen, basteln, neue CD`s hören und einfach nur chillen, denn mein Mann blockiert mit ein paar Freunden das Wohnzimmer und den Fernseher und schaut Starwars. Den ganzen Tag. Ich kann also den ganzen Tag an meine Maschine und das werde ich:-)

Today I have a day off. Completly free. I can sew, I can be creative, listen to new cd`s and just sit down and chill. My husband is watching all starwars movies with friends in the living room. I can go to my sewing mashine and I promise, I will:-)
