Aprilwetter und noch eine Tasche - April weather and another bag

 

So sah es am Freitag Nachmittag aus. Man befürchtete schon den Untergang der Welt. Die Wolken zogen herauf und wurden immer immer dunkler und bedrohlicher. Stündlich wechselte das Wetter zwischen Regen, Schneeregen, Wind ohne Ende und der ein oder andere Sonnenstrahl spitzte ab und zu auch hindurch. Willkommen im April. Das Gute ist an diesem Wetter - Was willst du schon draußen machen? Zeit, die Nähmaschine zu beschäftigen.

Welcome to april in Germany. That is what we call "April weather" The best thing about ist is: There is nothing you want to do outside. Time for sewing.

Ich musste noch ein kleines Geburtstagsgeschenk nähen, denn leider hat sich meine Arbeitskollegin für beide Taschen des letzten Posts entschieden und nun musste ich noch eine nähen. Wobei - eigentlich nicht leider - einfach nur "sie hat" sich entschieden. Es freut mich immer, wenn meine Arbeit geschätzt und angenommen wird. Jedenfalls habe ich für das Geburtstagskind eine kleine Tasche für die Handtasche genäht. Die Lieblingsfarbe dieser Dame ist Petrol. Ich habe meinen blauen Stoffstapel herausgezogen und allerlei petrol/Türkis und Hellblau gefunden. Der ganz helle Stoff zwischen drin ist auch wunderschön. In dieser Kombi erinnert er fast an etwas Strand am Meer.

I needed to sew a small birthday present. The other two bags from the last post were taken by my colleague. She just took both - she loved them. I love it when someone likes my work and honors it. But now I needed another zipper pouch for a lady that likes petrol. I pulled out my blues, petrols and turquoise and made this one. The lighter farbic reminds me of sand in the sea with all the blues around it.

Genäht habe ich die Tasche wie immer nach der Grundanleitung von Jeni Baker von incolororder.com. Sie hat auf ihrer Webseite tolle Tutorials und Anleitungen zum Download stehen. Ich habe diesmal nur die Größe der Half Square Triangles (HST) geändert. Meine sind fertig 2,5" groß. Da brauchte ich nicht so viele;-) Wenn die beiden Außenteile denn mal gepatcht und gequiltet sind, dann näht sich die Tasche beinahe von selbst zusammen.

This time I changed the size of the HST`s to 2,5 inch finished size. Whe you`ve got your outer Bag pieces finished the bags is sewn together real quick.

Leider habe ich jedoch festgestellt, dass meine Maschine leider den Stoff gerne einzieht und so ganz rund hört sie sich auch nicht mehr an. Ich habe sie heute mal zum Maschinendoktor gebracht und mir als Ersatz die alte Pfaff meiner Mutter geholt - ich muss ja schließlich noch einen Quilt fertig stellen. Eigentlich hatte ich geplant während meines 3 wöchigen Urlaubes in Amerika die Maschine zum Check zu geben, aber so lange macht sie es dann wohl doch nicht mehr. Der letzte Check war im Oktober 2012. Schon eine Weile her.

Sadly I discovered that my mashine is having trouble in sewing regular. She pulls in fabric and tears thread. I brought her to the mashine doctor today and picked up the old Pfaff of my mum. I need to finish a Quilt.
Actually I planned to bring her to the Check when I have my trip to America - but that doesn`t work so far. The last Check was october 2012.  lot of sewing time ago.


Wie handhabt ihr das mit euren Maschinen? Lasst ihr sie regelmäßig durchchecken oder erst, wenn die Maschine nicht mehr so mag wie ihr?

How do you handle it with your mashine? Do you let them check constantly or do you bring them to the mechanic when it doesn`t work anymore?
