Endlich - Fertig mit Runde 10 -- Finally - finished with round 10

Da ist er. Mein LaPassion ist inzwischen enorm gewachsen. Inzwischen reicht nicht mehr ein Haltehelfer aus, ich brauche zwei. Mein Dank an die beiden Halter, die sich bei dieser Kälte zur Verfügung gestellt haben:-)
Dieser Quilt ist wirklich ein Riese. Aktuell misst die Diagonale von der grünen Border einer Raute zur gegenüberliegenden Raute ca. 2,50 m. Nicht, dass ich das vorher nicht gewusst hätte. Ich glaube ich bin nicht allein, wenn ich sage, dann ich diese Größe doch ein wenig unterschätzt habe. Man sieht einen Quilt, ließt eine Anleitung und liest, ca. 2,50 m im Quadrat und denkt sich, cool, mach ich, so groß ist das ja auch nicht. Naja, jetzt wo die Randgröße durch die Rautenbegrenzungen zum ersten Mal sichtbar wird, wird auch die Größe real. Das ist nicht nur eine Ziffer auf einem Blog, einer Website oder in facebook, das ist wirklich.

Here he is. My LaPassion grewed a lot in the last weeks. Now I need four hands to hold it for a picture. Thank you to my two best men to help me out. 
This Quilt is really a giant. The diagonal from the outer green border of the diamond to the other one is about 2,50 m (about 100 inch). It is not the thing that I didn`t knew the size before. I think I am not allone when I say I didn`t expected this size. You see a quilt, you read the instructions you read the size of 100 inches and you think - That is cool. I doo that. That`s not soo big. Seeing this round finished - suddenly the size became real. That`s not just a number on a blog, a website or facebook - this is real.

Als ich am 4. Februar dieses Bild gemacht habe - hier liegt die Mittlere Runde und die Runden 7-10 vorbereitet in "kleinen" Portionen - konnte ich das Bild noch im Wohnzimmer machen. Am gestrigen Abend, dem 24. Februar habe ich die letzten Stiche an der Runde gemacht.

As I took this picture at february the 4th - you can see the middle piece and the prepared rounds 7-10 - I could make the picture in our living room. Yesterday, february 24th I made the last stitch on this Round. 

Mein Jubelschrei ließ meinen Mann als Blumenmonster durchs zimmer tanzen, naja, eigentlich haben wir nur etwas rumgealbert und ich mag dieses Bild sehr, denn da ist der LaPassion in action zu sehen. 

I shouted out in happiness and my husband flew aournd the corner to see what has happend. Then he danced around as this fower monster that you can see. We were just joking around and I love this picture to see my LaPassion in action:-)

Dieses Bild hat mein Mann gemacht. Ich mag dieses Bild, denn es zeigt einfach auch, wie viel Platz die abendliche Näherei im Wohnzimmer einnimmt. Jetzt bin ich erstmal froh, dass ich wieder mit kleineren Teilen arbeiten kann und nicht aufpassen muss, dass ich beim zurechtzupfen des Quilttops nicht versehentlich den Tisch abräume.

This picture was taken by my husband. I ove this picture, because it shows the size and the space my sewing in the evening takes in de living room. Now I am happy to work with smaller pieces. With the smaller ones I do not have to take care about things standing on the table. 

Die ersten Zentren der 12 Rauten für die Runde 11 sind bereits vernäht und ein ganzer Haufen Hexagons wartet darauf verarbeitet zu werden.

The first few centres of the 12 diamonds of round 11 are alreday prepared and a whole bunch of prepared hexagons are waiting for sewing.

All diese Hexagons hier auf dem Bild habe ich während unseres Urlaubes in Montafon vorbereitet. Wenn man den ganzen Tag an der frischen Luft - frisch und kalt: -11 Grad - ist, dann taut man zwar beim Apres Ski schön auf aber zurück im Hotel muss etwas Entspannung sein, und Hexagons vorbereiten, hat etwas sehr meditatives an sich.

Al these Hexagons on this picture were prepared during my skiing vacation in Montafon. Beeing out there the whole day with teh fresh cold air - it was -11 Degree Celcius - you can warm up at the Apres Ski, but back in the Hotel there has to be some chilling, too. And preparing those hexagons is really ruminant.

Quadrate, Quadrate und Quadrate - squares, squares and squares

In den letzten Tagen habe ich ein Quadrat an das andere genäht. Dabei ist einmal dieses süße, sehr frühlingshafte Kissen für das Wohnzimmer entstanden. Ich hatte zu Weihnachten Mal einen Rentier-Kissenbezug genäht und nun möchte mein Schatzi Kissen für Frühjahr/Ostern haben. "Aber bitte vier Stück" - was hab ich da bloß angefangen;-)

In the last few days I sewed one square to another to another ... During this process, I made this cute fresh spring pillow for our living room. I made a christmas pillow case with a reindeer on it and now my hubs wants to have some for spring and Easter. "Four pillows please" - what did I started there ;-)

Desweiteren hatte ich ja zu Weihnachten diese süßen Dreieckstaschen genäht und die sind super angekommen. Daraufhin haben mich ein paar Freunde gefragt, ob ich Mal wieder welche nähen würde. Das hat mich richtig gefreut und ich habe angefangen meine Restegläser zu plündern. Ich wollte dafür nicht extra Stoff abschneiden - außer für das Innenfutter - die anderen waren ja auch sehr zusammengepatcht, also hieß es erstmal schnippeln, schnippeln und schnippeln.

Remember these cute little triangle pouches I made for Christmas? They were really loved by everyone. After showing them some friends asked if I have some of them left. I am very lucky and I thought I made some more to empty my scrap glades. I didn't want to use up fabric from my stash - except for the lining - and the other ones were stash busters, too and so I started cutting a lot of squares.

Am Ende hatte ich einen kunterbunten Haufen von über 500 eineinhalb inch Quadraten vor mir liegen. Darauf wurden 16 Taschenpanele, die ich mit den Resten meines Flieses gefüttert und ganz unterschiedlich gequiltet habe. Ich hoffe ich bin am kommenden Wochenende fertig mit der "Produktion" ;-)

In the end, I had a big stash of more than 500 one and a half inch squares in so many colours. I sewed 16 bag panels which I basted with leftover scraps from my batting a. I did many different quilting a on the bags. I hope to get finished at the weekend.

Wenn man dabei bedenkt, dass das alles Reste sind und ich mir nun meine Restegläser so anschaue - einen wirklichen Unterschied zu vorher erkenne ich nicht. Da muss ein weiteres Resteprojekt her. Mal sehen, wie ich die Osterkissen gestalten werde:-)

Looking at this pile of panels, knowing that these are all scraps - I realised that my scrap glases didn't loose much content. They look pretty much the same, full. I need another destash project. And I do not know how to create these Easter pillows yet.
