verträumter Landhausstil - country house style

Ich hatte am Freitag Abend noch ein paar Minuten Zeit, ein Geschenk fertig zu machen. Im letzten Post habe ich geschrieben, dass ich eigentlich noch den Knopf und ein Joo aufnähen wollte. Als die kleine Tasche dann fertig war, dachte ich mir, braucht`s eigentlich nicht mehr.
Geschenkt habe ich die Tasche an eine Freundin, die ihre komplette Wohnung im Landhausstil eingerichtet hat. Als ich auf dem Stoffmarkt vor einem Jahr diese Reproduktionsstoffe alter Serien gesehen habe, habe ich an sie gedacht und gleich zugeschlagen und ein paar Fat Quater davon gekauft. Bei dieser Tasche habe ich auch meine erste Stoffraffung ausprobiert, ich finde sie ist mir sehr gut gelungen, was meint ihr?

I had a few minutes to finish this present. As I wrote in my last post, I actually wanted to add a button and a jojo to that bag to make the look complete. The bag was finished and told me - No button No jojo. Ok. sometimes you see things not until finishing sewing the last seam.
I gave it to a friend who set up her flat completly in this romantic country house style. At the last fabric market I found these reproductions thought about some presents for her and bought some fat quarters. With this bag I tried my first ruffle with fabric and I think it was a good idea to go with on this one, what do you mean?


Das kleine Utensilio mit dem Paisleystoff habe ich noch dazu genäht, ich nutze diese gerne als Brotkorb, bei ihr steht das Utensilio nun auf dem Schminktisch.


The small basket - how do you call this? - I made with paisley fabric and it came out realy cute. I love to use these baskets for my dinner table as a basket for bread, she put it on her dressing table.

Gefüttert habe ich die Tasche mit Thermolan, denn ich wollte, dass sie auch eine gewisse Stabilität bekommt, da ich bei dieser Tasche keinen Boden abgenäht habe. Auch ohne Boden ist diese kleine Tasche sehr geräumig und sieht einfach romantisch aus.

I lined the bag wit Thermolan, that a stiffer interfacing than my light interfacing and it gives more stability to the bag. I use Thermonal because I didn`t want to add a bottom wit boxed corners to it. Even without a bottom the bag has a lot of room in it and it looks really romantic.
 

Auch der Innenstoff ist ein Reproduktionsstoff mit Blumen drauf. Und ich habe auch diesmal drangedacht, mein Label pünktlich einzunähen. Oftmals vergesse ich die Dinger nämlich und darf nach getaner Arbeit diese wieder auftrennen um dann eine neue Naht zu setzen und dabei dann das Label reinzubasteln. Inzwischen liegen die kleinen Webbänder immer in einer kleinen Zipptüte neben der Maschine direkt im Blickfeld. Dadurch verringert sich das Vergessen stetig:-)

Even the lining fabric is one of the reproductions with flowers on it. And I remembered just in time to sew in my label. I forget to sew in these lables very often and then I have to use my trusty seam ripper and set new seam to add the label correctly. I learned that I do not forget to add my labels all the time when I have them next to my mashine, so laying down the bag of labels next to the mashine is better for my work:-) I do not forget them so often any more.

In Arbeit - work in progress

 

Huhu, Ich weiß, ich habe meinen Blog in den letzten eineinhalb Wochen etwas vernachlässigt. Tatsächlich bin ich erst an vergangenen Wochenende mal wieder zum nähen gekommen. Und der heutige Blogpost zeigt nur unfertige Arbeiten, die gerade darauf warten fertiggestellt zu werden und dann bei ausreichend Tageslicht zu fotografiert zu werden. Momentaufnahmen heißt das Zauberwort heute.

Hey there. I know I didn`t wrote a lot in the last one and a half week. I`m sorry. Actually I just found time to sew last weekend. And today´s post shows only unfinished pieces, waiting to be finished and fotographed with enough daylight. Just some impressions for now.

Ich habe den Scrappy Stars Quilt fertig gequiltet und auch das Binding am Wochenende angenäht. Aber das Licht derzeit ist ein graus. Ich komme zudem grundsätzich immer erst dann nach Hause, wenn es bereits stockfinster ist. Gebt mir noch Zeit bis zum Wochenende, dann zeige ich euch das Kunstwerk, denn das ist der kleine Quilt wirklich geworden.

I finished the scrappy quilts quilting and sewed on the binding on the weekend. But the light is really bad in these days. To this problem I leave the house and it is dark and I come home and it is dark. Give me some time to bring it to light on the weekend and I`ll show you a real piece of art, I love how this small quilt turned out.

Den letzten, übriggebliebenen Stern habe ich für ein Kissen gequiltet und eine grüne Bommelborte besorgt, die nähe ich noch mit rein als Paspel. Das sieht jetzt schön ganz gemütlich aus.

I made a pillow from the last leftover star and quiltet it. I bought a green pompom-thing (how do I call it in englisch, maybe boarder - ok I call it pompom-boarder) and I`ll sew it into the layers of the pillow. This is going to look really good I think.

Und die Geburtstage häufen sich dann auch wieder im Januar und Februar. Eine kleine Tasche im Landhausstil wird diese hier, den kleinen herzförmigen Knopf in Holzoptik habe ich bei meinem Lieblingsladen gesehen und gleich mitgenommen. Ich mache diesen auf ein Jojo drauf, das gibt der Tasche dann noch das gewisse etwas.

There are a lot of birthdays in January and Febuary. A small pouch with dreamy colors like this is going to be one of the presents.I saw the small button made like a heart of wood in my favorite store and I bought it immediatly. I will sew it on to a Jojo and finish the bag with a cute extra:-)

Noch ein Geschenk - another present

Noch ein Geschenk, das ich euch unbedingt zeigen muss. Meine ehemalige Nachbarin wird zum ersten Mal Mama und da dachte ich, Mensch, Zeit für ein kleines nettes und süßes Babygeschenk. Nur was? Nachdem die Mama bereits in der Zeit in der wir gemeinsam in einem Haus gewohnt haben gestrickte Socken von mir geliebt hat dachte ich mir, das Baby braucht auch welche. Vorallem wenn die Mama nicht stricken kann.
Gesagt - getan. Ich habe haufenweise Sockenwolle übrig und während der langen Zugfahrten auf die Arbeit kann ich immer prima Socken stricken. Zurzeit arbeite ich meine Sockenwollreste auf und stricke Baby, bzw. Kindersocken. Vier Paar habe ich bereits beim Roten Kreuz abgegeben, weitere sind in Arbeit. Die haben dort Winterkleidung gesammelt und diese dann an Bedürftige verteilt. Ich brauche im Moment ja keine Kindersachen.

Another present I need to show to you. My ex-neighbor becomes a mommy and I thought - time for a cute, little and sweet baby present. But what? The future mommy loved selfknitted socks when we lived together in a house and so I started to knit some for the baby. Especially because the mommy cannot knit some.
I have lots of wool for socks left and with these leftovers I knitted cute little sock during my long drives to work with the train. I am working on my wool leftovers to reduce them and I knit baby or kids socks and I spend them to the Red Cross. They collect winterstuff and give it to people that need some. I do not need baby stuff.

Ich wollte jedoch nicht nur Socken stricken, die vielleicht mit einem Jahr oder wann passen, sondern auch für die Zeit, wenn das Baby noch ganz klein ist. Also habe ich im Internet nach einer Babysockentabelle gesucht. Dort gibt es bereits eine Größe die passen soll, bis das Kind ca. 3 Monate alt ist. Ich sage euch - die sind soooooooo klein. Verrückt. Voll Mini. Ich dachte zuerst, ich habe die Tabelle falsch gelesen.
Diese süße kleine Eulentasche beinhaltet eine kleine Wintermütze, 1 Paar Socken bis 3 Monate, 1 Paas bis 6 Monate und ein Paar bis 12 Monate.

But I didn`t want to knit socks that fit with a year or later - I wanted them to fit in the first time after birth. I searched in the internet after a chart for baby sized socks and found one. They show them in a size until 3 months, 6 and 12 months. I tell you - these socks are soooooo little. I didn`t thought, that they can be soo small. First I thought I made a mistake by reading the chart.
This owl string bag contents a small cap for cold days, a pair of socks size to 3 Months, to 6 months and one for 12 months.

Da meine Füße im Winter aber auch permanent kalt sind, habe ich nach vielen kleinen Socken auch ein paar Socken Größe 41 gestrickt. Die gehören mir. Ich habe diese Wolle von Regia mal in der Stadt entdeckt und sofort zugeschlagen. Tolle Farben, tolles Muster, einfach kuschelig warm. Herrlich. So jetzt muss ich wieder aufs Sofa. Der erste Arbeitstag nach 2 Wochen Urlaub hatte es mit sämtlichen Problemen, die ein Haus aufbieten kann wirklich in sich. Morgen hoffentlich etwas ruhiger.

But I always have cold feet in wintertime. So I knitted a pair of socks sized 9,5. These are mine. I saw this wool from regia in the city and bought it immediatly. Great colors, great pattern, super cozy and warm. I love them. Now I need to go back to my couch. My first day at work after 2 weeks of holiday brought every single problem a house can bring. Hard day. hopefully tomorrow it is getting better.
